Our Summer of Uncertainty: The Wisdom of the Enneagram in the Midst of It All

Date

Aug 15 2020
Expired!

Cost

$55 per person or $100 for two people who attend together

Saturday, August 15 (10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., PST… includes a 90-minute lunch and reflection break)

We are excited to be offering our first online (Zoom) guest Enneagram teacher workshop, with our friend and wonderful teacher, Kathryn Grant!

Here is Kathryn’s description of what this workshop experience offers us:

“Learn to step right into the river: to be completely, fearlessly present even in the hardest times, the most difficult times.” Pema Chodron

Much of our everyday lives are repetitions of our protective patterns and habits. These repetitive behaviors have worked well enough, and are an efficient, if not effective way to live. When, instead of everyday lives, we are faced with virus threats, political and cultural upheaval, financial uncertainty, with possible looming recession and shortages, then what?

There are useful responses to all of this. Conscious breathing, meditation, relaxation, exercise and a wholesome diet. All helpful, if we remember.

My witching hour is between 1:00 and 2:00 am. I awake and often am unable to return to sleep. I get up. Early. My antennas are up and quivering to catch any warning signs of things, internal and external about which to worry and obsess. And you?

What can we do? How are we able to respond clearly and helpfully to uncertainty and change? What do we notice about our thinking? Our bodies? Our emotions? Do we feel more fragile?

Each Enneagram Style comes with its own set of fears. During our times of stress and chaos, these often are the places that trigger us and shut down our helpful responses. They are the point at which we are most affected by this sense of uncertainty, giving shape and direction to our anxiety. The Enneagram gives us directions for relief.

In this workshop we will explore our physical, mental and emotional responses and suggest ways we can cope more efficiently and effectively. The Enneagram provides an accurate map to help us with this. The Sixes, and the Six in each of us, will be a good place to start. Then we will come home to our own style and explore our own resourceful connections.
