Balancing social action with contemplation will enable you to build resilience for the long haul. Contemplation is a way to nourish your spirit and fill your cup so you can pour out for others. Maybe you don’t want to feel so alone in this work. You may be experienced in the important work of advocate and reformer or you may be new to this awakening desire for justice. All our welcome. We will drink in the practice of Lectio Divina (Sacred Reading) together.
Facilitated by Spiritual Director Mindy Braun
Meeting once a month on the First Fridays at 10:00am – 11:00am PST
No Fee required. Donations welcome.

Joanna QuintrellSpiritual Director, Journey Center Online Executive Director
Joanna Quintrell serves as the Executive Director of the Journey Center Association. It was in the year 2000 that she found herself in a spiritual crisis and first learned about spiritual direction, a gift that was life-changing and heart-transforming for her… no one had ever taught her how to nurture her own inner life with God. Joanna began her training as a spiritual director in 2003 (trained at the Mercy Center, Burlingame and the Center for Spiritual Direction in Chicago). She served as the founding director of Journey Center Santa Rosa in California through 2016 and then established the Journey Center Association in 2017. She has been the co-director of the Association’s 2-year Spiritual Director Formation Program since 2009. In addition to the joy of holding sacred space for others, Joanna loves organic gardening, hiking, traveling and grand-parenting. She and her husband live in Santa Rosa, California.

Mindy BraunExecutive Director of Journey Center Santa Rosa
Mindy was drawn to the Journey Center because of the radical hospitality and oasis of rest it provides while at the same time having a clear mission to bring healing and wholeness through encountering the Holy.
Mindy graduated with the 2021 Cohort of the Journey Center Association’s Spiritual Director Formation Program and also became the Executive Director of Journey Center Santa Rosa. Her passion is to create safe, sacred spaces for all people to experience love and belonging. One way she does this is through facilitating various groups – God in Nauture hikes, Poetica Pro Anima (Poetry for the Soul), Art Journal Examen, racial reconciliation groups, and Oasis for Activists.
Her favorite spiritual practices are either art journaling, tending her garden, or hiking in the forest.
