Embodied Edges: Exploring the Feminine Mystics and Prophets

Date

Mar 30 2024 - Jun 02 2024

Cost

$125.00

An “edge space” is the space between one established system, way of being, ecosystem and another.  In nature, edge spaces occur where forests meet fields, mountains meet plains, water meets shore.  These spaces produce the most diversity of life.  But culturally and systemically, these are the places we tend to find uncomfortable, try to ignore, to “fix,” eliminate, or just get through as quickly as possible.

The purposes of this course are:
– To honor, read and learn from writers who’ve often had no choice but to occupy edge space.
– To listen deeply to these writers, each other, and ourselves for the individual and collective wisdom inherent in edge spaces.
– To look for and identify the mystic, prophet, and edge spaces in ourselves and our communities.
-To learn how to occupy and live from these spaces of change, creativity, and growth for the flourishing of each person and our earth.

Emily describes the Embodied Edges Course

All materials will be provided before the first session.
These include: the readings for each session, which contain short selections of poetry and prose from a range of writers, background information on the authors and their historical contexts, prompts for reflection, and recommended further reading.
