A weekend contemplative retreat experience

Beginning with a pre-Lenten celebration, we will then move into contemplating the mystery of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. How Then Shall We Live? - A Weekend Retreat into the Rhythm of Benedictine Life ( at St. Columba Retreat House, Inverness )

Friday, February 28, 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, March 2, 10:00 a.m.
Primarily a silent retreat, this is an opportunity to experience monastic life in community. In the 6th century, St. Benedict of Nursia designed the Rule of Life as a way of organizing the life of the monastics. It has been revised over the centuries but still offers a rhythm for the Christian life that includes prayer and reading, rest, silence and work as well as service to others, all within each 24-hour period. Encountering the Holy through Art…A Contemplative Day Retreat (San Francisco, CA)

This day is about contemplatively interacting with the Creator, through beautiful works of art at the De Young Museum. You are invited to prayerfully view the artwork and in meditation reflect on what the Holy might be saying to you. A piece of art may have spiritual meaning for you; an invitation into a holy dialogue. Following this time of reflection, you will be invited to respond creatively by designing your own piece of collage art. A Man’s Journey: A Look at Our Sacred Pathways

This retreat is for men seeking discernment in their relationship with the Holy One. With so much chatter in the exterior world, it is challenging to hear the still, small voice of the Spirit. Valerie has two openings for individuals who can make a 30-week commitment to meet with their spiritual director once a week and engage in daily prayer, scripture reflection, and journaling. More>
