Greetings from the Journey Center Staff!
What are you thankful for? This is a question that most of us will hear and reflect on in this month of the year, so I thought I’d share this short Thanksgiving Psalm with you, as well as the details of what’s coming up at the Journey Center in the remainder of the month. We are so very grateful for you and continue to do our best to bring you resources that support and bless you on your journey.
Shout for joy to the Holy One, all the earth. Give thanks with gladness and enter into that loving Presence with joyful songs. Know that you belong to your Creator; you are lovingly tended like sheep in the rich, green pasture.
Yes, your Shepherd is good and loves you faithfully, forever. (From Psalm 100)
COMING UP THIS WEEKEND:
·Celebrating the Miracles: Creating a Gratitude Abundance Mandala: Saturday, November 17; 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. In this workshop we will be honoring and giving thanks for the earthly gifts of abundance manifesting all around us at this time of the year. We will engage in a powerful and centering process of giving thanks in a prayerful and creative manner. We will do this by creating luminous Gratitude Mandalas based on a drawing process developed by the late Judith Cornell. Traditionally, mandalas have been used as a meditation tool for focusing attention, establishing a sacred space and gaining balance within from the energetic images and symbols. Paying attention to the blessings present in our lives, by using words, images and color, we will welcome this Season of Thanksgiving in through creating a visual healing Mandala of gratitude. No previous art experience necessary. Facilitator: Caterina Martinico is an artist and art therapist who began studying with Judith Cornell in 1993 and has been facilitating Illuminated Mandala workshops, for over 20 years. For more information on her work and mandalas see: www.creativeartstudio.com. Cost: $65 + $10 material fee. Please bring a bag lunch. View the Creating a Gratitude Abundance Mandala Fall poster

·Group Spiritual Direction: a Model for Redemptive Community- this monthly group is forming and dates will be decided by the participants. Spirituality is a quest for the God who is longing for us, rooted in an ever-deepening desire for the unknown and unknowable-what we refer to as the Divine. In group spiritual direction, 4-6 people gather together monthly to become more aware of that Mystery and share that awareness in a meditative process of reflective listening and sharing. In group spiritual direction we are collectively present for one another. Facilitators: Dick Meyer and Linda Albert, Spiritual Directors. Contact Dick if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity (707-540-3023)
