It’s a Small World…(Joanna’s First Blog Ever!)
Well, here it is… my first blog ever. There have been so many firsts in my life- hundreds!- and now this one. Time once again to enter the “modern” age. :-)
I am thinking today about how small our world has become, and how this is a good thing.
In the past few weeks, I’ve met people (through email) from all over the United States, Canada and Europe. It still amazes me that I can write a message, hit “send” and know that that person who lives thousands of miles away will receive it in just a few seconds. Wow! I don’t know if I’ll ever get over how cool that is.
And I know I’ll never get over how wondrous, miraculous and amazing it is that there is One who loves me (and you!) who is always present, always pouring out grace and kindness and help…even when all seems dark and confusing.
May we all take time today to pause for a few moments, quiet our minds and hearts and become aware that we are never alone…for there is no distance between us and God, who is near.
“I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Thank you for this blog and for Journey Center. What a gift.I often think of the faith you have,Joanna, in nurturing the Journey Center. You really try to get out of the way and let God work.I feel a bit in the dark and certainly confused about where my home will be — still in intentional community or out in northeast Santa Rosa?I can change my mind several ways in under 5 minutes. It helps to remember how confused you were sometimes and how you rallied under the banner of this is God’s work, however that turns out, and so can not help but be for the good. So, thanks.A lot.

I couldn’t agree more with Barbara, you are an inspiration to how listening to the prompting of the Spirit can grow something small into something people thousands of miles away can be inspired by.

Maybe it would be a better idea to use a more comprehensive website design for your blog. It will get you more visitors and links.

Thanks for the comment, Dan. I plan to make our blog look more like our website – some day when I finally have time. (Hopefully soon!)
